Grand Hotel Villa Igea, was a magnificent tribute to wellbeing due to its sunny location filled with pure sea air; it was soon converted into luxury accommodation.
The greats of the world have had the privilege of staying here: Tsars, Kings and Queens from all over Europe have over the decades planned their holidays in this splendid residence, among the architectural jewels resulting from the creativity of Ernesto Basile and strongly desired by Ignazio and Vincenzo Florio.
Ernesto Basile disegnò i saloni in stile floreale, così come anche il mobilio dell’edificio, la cui realizzazione venne poi commissionata al famoso mobilificio di Vittorio Ducrot. Queste caratteristiche fanno ancora oggi di Villa Igea, un luogo accogliente ma anche un prezioso scrigno di tesori del Design.
