De Vecchi has taken part in the most important Design exhibitions in Italy and abroad
The historic De Vecchi Milano 1935 silverware factory creates products lines for home and jewelry, characterized by high quality standards and a great love for Design.
The over eighty years of activity are studded with awards; from the awards at the Milan Triennale, to the recommendations for the Compasso d’Oro. De Vecchi has taken part in the most important design exhibitions and reviews in Italy and abroad.
For us, silver projects are born from the need to reimagine a long tradition, its behaviors, its rules, in order to get, through continuous research, to a new way to interpret this material.
The environments visuals made dubious by the silver surfaces reflections of our creations.
Designing silverware doesn’t simply mean creating a shape, but also creating a support for the images reflection capable of freeing the infinite and unexpected expressive richness of this material.
The silversmith workshop, Atelier De Vecchi, was founded by Piero De Vecchi in 1935. A sculpturer and engraver, at a young age he participated in Futurism which shared the constant research of the dynamism that he transmitted in his productions. His works were exhibited in major national and international museums: from the Milan Triennale to the Moma in New York, which granted him the Diploma of Honor for an aluminium Thermos, an aluminium “picnic service” and a candlestick in silver T8. With the T8 Piero De Vecchi completely changes the classical structure of a candlestick: a single item that unfolds into a fluid shape into space.
In 1962 his son Gabriele, succeeded his father at the running of the company “Inside the Silver”. Since then, Gabriele transferred into the interior of the silver. his skills and the research guidelines based on the reflective qualities of this material, by studying the relationship between the object and the environment, what led to the creation of that De Vecchi style which today is recognized and appreciated all around the world.
In 2010 De Vecchi is bought by the Goldsmith Vhernier who share the same love for design, highest quality, made in Italy and craftsmanship.
Today the company, together with a young team of creative talents, revisits and reinterprets with contemporary style the unique design of De Vecchi Milano 1935, giving new life to one of the most important brands of Italian design.
